ARTZ 349 - Advanced Glass Kiln Forming

Building upon the fundamentals learned in ARTZ 249, students in this course will further develop their understanding and skill in fusing, pâte de verre (paste of glass), and kiln casting. Drawing and image research will continue to form the basis of work in this course as students formulate advanced concepts and technical innovations with kiln forming processes. In addition, a research paper on an historical or contemporary artist will be assigned. Assessment of student work will consider depth of research, sketchbook/concept engagement, understanding and control of processes, and presentation $135 course fee
