ARTZ 409 - Advanced Professional Practices

This course will explore methods and strategies for working as a professional artist. Students will develop an understanding of studio art practices and gain valuable experience for wide range applications. The course includes preparation for pragmatic career-building skills necessary to exhibition in galleries, art residencies, and teaching in the arts. Develop photography skills to document artwork and discern quality of images for a professional portfolio. Demonstrate ability to apply appropriate language in biographical and artistic statements, communicating philosophy and technical methods behind artwork. Understand ethical and professional best practices in art. Prerequisites: Senior Standing (spring)
