LIT 222 - British Literature: Victorian to Contemporary 4 Credit(s) Students will investigate British literature from the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries which may include the study of authors such as Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Matthew Arnold, Virginia Woolf, W.B. Yeats, T.S. Eliot, and Jean Rhys. Students will learn to interpret and situate literature in a national context while describing the impact of national literature on a culture and history and vice versa. Experiential learning activities may include group discussions, creative and/or analytical writing, and research practice. Students will show an understanding of the material through a variety of activities including, but not limited to, critical and/or creative written assignments, class discussion, and quizzes/examinations.
