LIT 170 - Visual Storytelling on Page and Screen

This course serves as an introduction to the study of storytelling forms that are primarily visual in nature, such as film, television, graphic novels, and video games. Coverage may focus on a single form, such as film, or on a mix of several, with an emphasis on the basic vocabulary and techniques of analysis in that genre. A variety of teaching and learning practices are included in this course: e.g., traditional lecture, oral readings, group discussions, creative and/or analytical writing, listening activities, oral and/or dramatic presentations, visits with authors, interviews, internet and off-campus activities, travel experiences, research practice, etc.
