CHMY 121 - Introduction to General Chemistry 4 Credit(s) This class is designed for non-science majors. Students will study the fundamental principles of chemistry in the context of real-world applications to atmospheric and water chemistry. Major fundamental topics covered include atomic structure, chemical bonding, chemical reactions, radiant energy, thermodynamics, acids and bases, and solutions. Most applications are cross-disciplinary with physics, biology, and/ or earth sciences. Student learning is evaluated through homework, exams, labs, fieldwork, and research papers. Lab included. $25 Course Fee.
Nat Sci. Prerequisite(s): equivalent of M 095 or higher; high school chemistry recommended.
