NRSM 213 - Natural Resources Conflict Resolution 4 Credit(s) Managing Earth’s natural resources – land, water, air, forests minerals, and metals – can fuel contentious debates. In this class, you will learn the foundations of conflict resolution through theory and practice. This course will focus on communications skills that promote collaboration through constructive dialogues. Students will learn how to reach out to and engage with diverse stakeholders as well as how to connect science with decision-makers. We will learn how to create collaborative spaces that value diverse perspectives and support group learning to connect science with management outcomes. We will learn through role-playing and working with local stakeholder groups on contentious debates. Through experiential learning, we will be developing communication and conflict resolution skills that are increasingly important to transform natural resources conflicts into constructive collaborations to address today’s pressing environmental challenges. $100 Course Fee
