PHL 114 - Introduction to Political Ethics 4 Credit(s) Analysis of the various attempts within Western thought (from the ancient world to the present) to explain, instruct, and justify political ethics. Emphasis is placed upon those theories whose primary concern is to define the nature of “good” political citizens/subjects within a just society. Critiques of this tradition from both Western and non-Western sources will be explored, with special emphasis given to the ethical claims of indigenous peoples. Lecture and group discussion
