ECNS 101 - Economic Way of Thinking

4 Credit(s)
Economics is the study of societal resource allocation. This course will provide the background necessary to understand the operation and development of free market-based allocation economies (capitalism). Topics will include an understanding of decision-making processes for the consumer and the firm, and how these processes affect market equilibrium and prices. To understand the development, rise, and current dominance of free market economies, students will examine historical/alternate models of resource allocation, including tribalism, feudalism, and socialism. The methodology for application of these concepts to personal and social issues will be emphasized, and students will learn how to apply basic economics concepts to basic mathematical models. $10 course fee.
