M 123 - Applied Algebra 4 Credit(s) This course will cover many basic and advanced topics in algebra with an emphasis on story problems, applications, and projects. Material will include graphing and solving polynomial, rational, radical, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions, as well as transformations, and some basic statistics. This course also applies these algebraic techniques to real world examples such as predicting the trajectory of a launched object, calculating the size of the Antarctica ice sheet, or estimating the effects of adding extra lanes on traffic patterns . Students will work with real data, create mathematical models, and deal with mathematical uncertainty.
Math Prerequisite(s): M 095 , or meet one math proficiency standart; or c/i. fall/spring
