ARTH 291A - Cross Cultural Approaches to Art History 4 Credit(s) CD Cross Cultural Approaches to Art History acquaints students with perspectives outside of the accepted Western History timeline. Students will become familiar with the cultural, social, political roots of art in selected cultures from Africa, Asia, South America, Central America, First Nations, and Indigenous Peoples worldwide. During the course students will take the opportunity to visit collections worldwide through online tours. Working with artists-in-residence and visiting artists, students will engage in dialogue around the elements influencing art from disparate artists and movements.
