PHL 241 - History & Philosophy of Science 4 Credit(s) This course will explore the history of science from its classical beginnings to modern times. The development of the process and meaning of science will be emphasized. In particular, the philosophical basis of science as a way of knowing and understanding the world will be compared to other major areas of philosophy. Students will be engaged in group discussions and will make group and individual presentations. Students will also write several short papers and a research paper. Includes guest lecturers from the HPSS Department.
