PSYX 280 - Fundamentals of Memory & Cognition 4 Credit(s) (CD) This course is designed as an introduction to the basic research methods and general theories of cognitive psychology by examining how people acquire information both explicitly and implicitly from the environment, how that information is represented and processed internally, and how it influences everyday thinking, communication, and problem-solving. Specific emphasis will be placed on how socio-cultural context impacts perception and internal ideation. Students are expected to demonstrate understanding and comprehension of course content through course examinations and out-of-class writing assignments.
