M 343 - Foundations of Mathematics 4 Credit(s) Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be familiar with techniques of writing mathematical proofs using direct, contrapositive, contradiction, and induction methods. In addition, the student will be introduced to some fundamental ideas used throughout mathematics including logic, set theory, number theory, complex numbers, function theory, group theory, and the historical contexts in which these concepts came about.
Prerequisite(s): Sophomore standing and M 210 grade B- or higher or c/i. (fall)
