Students completing the Bachelor in Elementary Education who seek endorsement in Early Childhood Education: P-3 must complete the minor in Early Childhood Education.

Teachers applying to the University of Montana Western who already hold a Montana License in Elementary Education and who plan to add an Early Childhood Education: P-3 endorsement must complete the minor in Early Childhood Education.

Distance candidates completing the ECE: P-3 Bachelor degree are not required to attend senior seminar but are responsible for calling the UMW field placement office prior to TEP Gateway 2 in order to receive pertinent information regarding student teaching.  Pertinent information will be distributed using online technologies.  Required meetings will be conductedby phone or Business Skype.

Technology Requirement: Before registering for EDU 370, EDU 371, or EDEC 331, students must have earned a passing score on the Information & Tech- nology Literacy Exam, or at least a B- on either COMS 115 Computer Basics for Educators (4 credits) or CAPP 131 Basic Microsoft Office (4 credits).  Students who complete P-3 BS Degree Requirements may obtain a K-8 endorsement through completion of the following courses and the PRAXIS Exam.  These courses are offered on the Montana Western campus.
