HEE 340 - Methods of Health Education 4 Credit(s) Introduction to the fundamental health concepts and strategies necessary for teaching health to PK-12 students. Content guided by the coordinated school health model and applicable state and national standards is explored and implemented in lesson planning activities with a health literacy skill focus. In addition to health and safety content mandated by the Montana Code Annotated, including the physical and emotional health of children and choices relating to the use and abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs, legal and ethical responsibilities of educators are reinforced. Students are expected to demonstrate comprehension of course content through individual and group content-based assignments and presentations, lesson planning, and microteaching activities. $5 Course Fee.
Prerequisite(s): EDU 382 or EDEC 273 , or c/i Block 4/Block 6, Block 3 even fall, online each semester
