WRIT 494P - Capstone Portfolio 1 Credit(s) The Capstone Portfolio requires graduating students in English and English and Secondary Education to compile a collection of their best work from throughout their courses in the major. Students select essays or other projects that showcase their development as researchers, writers, critics, and literary historians and write a reflective essay that evaluates and connects their academic experiences and scholarly growth with future professional and educational goals. This process of curation and reflection allows for valuable self-assessment, helps students refine their presentation skills, and provides a useful resource for job searches and graduate school applications. Completion of the portfolio is required for graduation and serves as a tool for the English department to assess and improve the effectiveness of its program.
